We are so glad that we had a visit from Kat and Anna at Local Choices. They wrote a wonderful article that has great information about who we are and what we do as well as many pictures! You can see the article and pictures at this link. The pictures are to the right side of the web page toward the bottom; this is one of their great works above of the oldest set of lambs! Happy searching.

We also had a ram lamb born last night on the 28th. Big boy weighing in at 10.5 pounds! The oldest lambs were weighed as well and came in at 42 and 44 pounds; one of these is reserved so get your orders in soon!

We had a wonderful visit today with the gals from Local Choices. We will post a link if they place anything on their website about our sheep! Melek was quite the play mate when they were here but did pose for a couple nice photos. We also are planing on helping out with the Merced Fair this year by allowing Pedro our main ram to go for the week (since he is so tame and follows us like a dog) and are also assisting with information on sheep dogs such as Melek and maybe even a sharing demo! Look forward to being there.

Here are the new round of chicks in the new pen out of the tool room! All 9 are doing well and growing fast. Soon they will be out eating bugs and giving some great eggs!

Lambs! One boy and one girl. In the middle of the night we lost the little boy he was smaller than the girl and born first. She is a first time lamber and a little nervous, plus Melek took it upon herself to help with the lamb and therefore the ewe forgot about him. He was okay at feed time but when we checked him in the middle of the night he was cold. I tried (as I always do) and gave him some milk we got from mom and held him with a heating pad. To no avail he passed on with me at 4:00 this AM.

Little girl is still well though. She weighed in at birth at 9.25 pounds! This is the ewe and ewe lamb.

We are happy to have our new sheep at the ranch! We purchased 4 yearling ewes and one ram from Mendenhall Ranch in Loma Rica, CA and they will be a wonderful addition to our ewes and current ram. Great picture from local choices of a couple of the new ewes.

We have some lambs on the ground but are anxiously awaiting all of the sheep to "pop" any day now! We will let you know when we have more lambs. If you want to reserve a lamb, please contact me as soon as possible so we can make arrangements for this season.

Happy Spring!
